Pixii has signed a memorandum of understanding with SCSK and Kawamura Electric to launch a distributed integrated energy management system. This represents Pixii’s entry into the Japanese market.
Conventional BESS systems have consisted of a combination of existing equipment and custom-made equipment tailored to requirements. This requires time-consuming system design and manufacturing as well as individual efforts to comply with grid interconnection codes at each installation.
The cooperation between SCSK, Kawamura, and Pixii aims to supply a flexible system with software that can meet diverse applications and power specifications, combining the strengths of each of the three partners.

Key aspects of the offering
- Modular design provides scalability and flexibility to cover a wide range of system sizes and applications. By assembling the systems in the production plant and supplying them as integrated units, the amount of work required for equipment design is reduced, and manpower for installation on-site is saved.
- The platform enables building owners and developers to reduce energy costs through advanced energy optimization while also generating revenue through value-stacking opportunities. Customers can easily configure the system to meet their unique needs, ensuring maximum return on investment.
- A distributed energy management system helps manage all the energy in a building, including solar power and batteries, in one place. Using the cloud ensures multiple battery systems work more reliably and efficiently.
Modular approach
Pixii’s contribution to the cooperation is based on PixiiBox, an advanced power electronics module that transfers energy from the grid to batteries and back to the grid when needed. Pixii’s technology stands out in the market for its modularity and scalability.
The modular design ensures that the systems are reliable and easy to maintain. This also allows Pixii to offer storage solutions to various customer segments, such as utilities, public and commercial buildings, industrial enterprises, telecom operators, entities balancing the energy grid (frequency market), and electric vehicle charging station operators.
